Introduction
Federation of Sexual and Gender Minorities, Nepal (FSGMN), founded in May 2007, is the first and the only network of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) organizations in Nepal, with 37 affiliated community based organizations (CBOs) and 53 offices in 32 districts.
The goal of FSGMN is to strengthen Men having Sex with Men/ Male Sex Workers (MSM/MSW) network and build capacity of its CBOs so that the unique needs of the LGBT communities will be strongly addressed. The purpose of FSGMN is to create a strong network of organizations with the capacity to work with the LGBTI communities across all of Nepal in the areas of health issues, advocacy and human rights.
In this process, FSGMN has received financial and technical support from USAID through ASHA Project since 2007 which was continued under Saath-Saath Project (SSP) since 2011 and Save the Children (Global Fund round 7 and 9) since 2010.
