Moving Forward Together: Reflections on FSGMN’s 18th General Assembly in Bharatpur

Date: 10th December 2025, Location: Bharatpur, Chitwan
The Federation of Sexual and Gender Minorities-Nepal (FSGMN) recently marked a significant milestone, successfully concluding its 18th Annual General Assembly and Social Audit. Held in the vibrant city of Bharatpur, the event was not just a procedural necessity, but a celebration of resilience, transparency, and community strength.
A Gathering of Allies and Advocates The atmosphere in Bharatpur was charged with purpose. We were honored to welcome distinguished guests who stood in solidarity with our cause. Mr. Chitrasen Adhikari, Deputy Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, served as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Chiranjivi Sharma, Assistant Chief District Officer of Chitwan, joined us as the Special Guest.
Their presence, alongside a diverse group of stakeholders, media representatives, and member organizations, highlighted the growing recognition of our issues at the local administrative level.
Commitment to Action One of the most encouraging outcomes of the assembly was the pledge received regarding the Mayor of Bharatpur. A distinct commitment was expressed to launch targeted programs specifically designed for the sexual and gender minority community and the organizations serving them within the metropolitan area. This promise marks a crucial step toward practical, government-backed support for our constituents.
More Than a Review While the Social Audit provided a necessary platform for transparency and reviewing our annual progress, the event transcended facts and figures. It stood as a symbol of our collective journey toward an inclusive Nepal.
At FSGMN, we hold firm to the belief that diversity is our power, and equality is our ultimate goal.
Gratitude We extend our deepest gratitude to every individual and organization that contributed to the success of this assembly. Your active participation and collaboration are the fuel that drives our movement forward
