Introduction
Federation of Sexual and Gender Minorities, Nepal (FSGMN), founded in May 2007, is the first and the only network of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and Intersex (LGBTIQA+) organizations in Nepal, with 35 affiliated community-based organizations (CBOs) and 53 offices in 32 districts.
Vision: A society in which all sexual and gender minorities are respected and they are able to live with dignity, free from discrimination, persecution, and violence.
Mission: As the national federation of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer and Asexual (LGBTIQA+) related organizations in Nepal, our mission is to improve health and wellbeing of LGBTI people through influencing policy and services, advocacy, representation and capacity building.
Goal: The Federation has been working with the goal of capacity building, institutional development and
network expansion of these member organizations to address the different needs of sexual and
gender minority communities in a strong way.
The aim of the Federation is to advocate for human
rights and health by building a strong network among member organizations across Nepal.
-To reduce HIV/AIDS transmission among LGBTI and improve their physical, mental and
social health status
-To reduce human rights violation against LGBTI in Nepal
-To ensure and promote meaningful participation of LGBTI in mainstream Nepali society.
